Dual Listed Gas Logs

 

The only area that FlameWorks “rides the fence” on the vented vs. Un-vented issue is related to gas logs.  One of the brands FlameWorks stocks is “dual listed” as a vented gas log set OR a Un-Vented log set.  We will not sell you a log set if you intend to use it as Un-Vented the majority of the time. 

If you wish to have a log set for a nice cheery fire occasionally and also want to have the option to use if for heat during the occasional emergency (such as power outages) then it may be the best choice for you to pick a dual listed log set. 

If you want a medium to large, dramatic fire occasionally and are not concerned with having the option of operating for heat a vented gas log set is the best choice.

If heat and efficiency are your main goals then fireplace inserts have efficiencies that can exceed vent free logs (ask, we can explain) and are designed to be used regularly and controlled by thermostats.  If you have a fireplace and want to convert it to gas for heating purposes, a direct-vent gas fireplace is the healthiest, most efficient choice for regular use.
